Cardiff City have revealed that Jonathan Walker has been appointed as their new manager.
Walker has been at the club for a number of years, most recently working with Terry Burton with the reserve team.
Few in the football world would be familiar with the new man in charge, he spent his playing career in non league and Welsh Football, with Accrington Stanley and Pontypridd Town being two of the clubs he occupied a defensive midfield role for.
Chairman Peter Risdale commented “Jonathan has been at the club a long time and has worked hard to get involved with the reserve team. He has showed that he has a good knowledge of the game and I believe he can be a success at Cardiff City”.
The appointment has been met with a less than impressive reaction from the fans, but the local press is optimistic that Risdale has appointed a manager who could turn out to be the next managerial prodigy.
New manager Jonathan Walker stated “As a life long Cardiff City fan I am delighted to be given the opportunity to be in charge of the club I love. I would like to thank Mr. Risdale for this chance and I will not let him, or any of the club’s great fans down”.
It is expected that a mid table finish is required for Jonathan to have his current one year deal extended.
