Following the sale of three players yesterday, Cardiff City have revealed that they have allowed Scottish striker Steven Thompson to join Norwich City for £75k.
Thompson joined the Bluebirds from Scottish Giants Rangers in January 2006 on a free transfer.
During his spell at Cardiff Thompson struggled to find any goal scoring consistency and at times found himself to be the victim of the Cardiff “boo boys”.
Manager Jonathan Walker commented: “With Fowler, Hasselbaink, MaClean and now Frazier Campbell at the club it would be difficult for Thompson to force his way into the team. When Norwich made the offer it was a good chance for the player to gain first team football, something that I couldn’t guarantee him at Ninian Park”.
Thompson follows Tony Capaldi, David Forde and Jason Byrne out of the door in Ninian Park.
