August 8th 2007:

Welsh winger Paul Parry has become the sixth player to be sold by Cardiff City this summer by joining League One side Southend United for £150k.
Paul Parry is added to a list of players shown the door by manager Jonathan Walker including full back Tony Capaldi and striker Jason Byrne.
Parry had been linked with a move away from the club all summer and had thought to have chosen to move to Crewe, but the move broke down allowing Southend to capture him.
Paul Parry joined Cardiff City from Hereford back in 2004 under then manager Lennie Lawrence. Since then he has earned international recognition for Wales.
Manager Jonathan Walker didn’t seem too concerned by the wingers departure saying “This league is all about consistency, Paul on his day is as good as anybody in this league, but he has shown that he can’t do it week in and week out, which is what I demand from my players. If Paul can remain focused then Southend have got a bargain on their hands”.
Cardiff fans have backed their managers decision, agreeing that Parry is an inconsistent player and that the fact he is dropping down a level shows that he isn’t good enough to play for their club.
